Nick Walker (geb. 1969) ist ein etablierter Graffiti-K\u00fcnstler aus Bristol, England. Er ist Teil der Stencil Graffiti-Bewegung. Begonnen von Robert Del Naja in den 1980er Jahren, was auch einen Einfluss auf Banksy hatte. Walker wurde von dem Filmregisseur Stanley Kubrick eingeladen, die Graffiti’d Stra\u00dfen von New York f\u00fcr seinen 1999 entstandenen Film Eyes Wide Shut nachzubilden.<\/p>\n

Seine Gem\u00e4lde zeigen oft einen Gentleman namens „Vandal“ mit Melonenhut, der in einem Video von The Black Eyed Peas zu sehen ist.<\/p>\n

Walkers Gem\u00e4lde verkaufen sich jetzt f\u00fcr gro\u00dfe Summen. Im Jahr 2006 verkaufte sich eine spr\u00fchlackierte Arbeit mit dem Titel „Moona Lisa“ f\u00fcr unerwartete 54.000 Pfund bei Bonhams in London. Bei einer Einzelausstellung in der Londoner Black Rat Gallery im Jahr 2008 wurden Kunstwerke im Wert von 750.000 Pfund verkauft. Au\u00dferdem gab es Dutzende von Leuten, die \u00fcber Nacht vor der Galerie campten.<\/p>\n

Walker war ein wichtiger Teilnehmer am See No Evil Event 2011 in Bristol, wo er „vielleicht das markanteste St\u00fcck der Veranstaltung“ malte. Einer seiner Vorfahren mit Melonenhut an der Seite eines Hochhauses in der Nelson Street.<\/p>\n

Nick Walker war der allererste Artist-in-Residence des Quin Arts Programms im Quin Hotel in New York City. Walker schuf vor Ort 15 Originalst\u00fccke f\u00fcr die permanente Sammlung des Quin w\u00e4hrend seiner Residenz im Jahr 2013. Im Jahr 2016 besuchte Nick Walker das Hotel erneut, um sowohl historische Bilder als auch ein neues Vokabular der Abstraktion zu pr\u00e4sentieren. Diese Einzelausstellung stellte 25 Originalwerke vor und er\u00f6ffnete das Quin Arts-Programm des Hotels f\u00fcr die Saison 2016.<\/p>\n
