Blek le Rat – David with Kalashnikov<\/h2>\n

Blek le Rat (echter Name: Xavier Prou) wurde 1951 in Boulogne-Billancourt, Frankreich, geboren. Er gilt als Vorl\u00e4ufer der Schablonenkunst (Street Art) im \u00f6ffentlichen Raum, obwohl die Punks diese Technik bereits benutzt hatten, um ihre Graffitis zu verbreiten. Das Pseudonym basiert auf der franz\u00f6sischen Comicfigur „Blek le Roc“.<\/p>\n

Von 1971 bis 1983 studierte er Grafik und dann Architektur an der \u00c9cole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Blek le Rat begann zun\u00e4chst zusammen mit seinem Freund G\u00e9rard Dumas als K\u00fcnstlerduo BLEK. Im Oktober 1981 versuchten sie zun\u00e4chst, eine Freihandarbeit zu spr\u00fchen, aber in seinen Augen scheiterte dies v\u00f6llig. Danach arbeitet er mit der Schablonentechnik, die er schon einmal gesehen hatte. Seine ersten Motive waren kleinformatige Arbeiten wie Ratten, Tanks und Bananen. Ende 1983 trennte sich das Duo BLEK und Xavier Prou nahm den Namen BLEK LE RAT an.<\/p>\n

Ebenfalls 1983 spr\u00fchte er seine erste gro\u00dfformatige Schablone. Diese zeigt einen alten Mann aus Nordirland, der britische Soldaten in einer Regenschirmm\u00fctze schimpft. Als Motiv diente ihm ein Foto aus der franz\u00f6sischen Zeitung „Lib\u00e9ration“. Es folgten viele weitere gro\u00dfformatige Arbeiten. Ab 1983 folgten andere Pochoiristen seinem Beispiel. Die 1987 von der franz\u00f6sischen Zeitung „Le Monde“ postulierte \u00c9cole de Blek le Rat umfasste die Pochoiristen J\u00e9rome Mesnager, Marie Rouffet und viele andere.<\/p>\n

Neben seiner Heimatstadt Paris arbeitete er in St\u00e4dten wie Berlin, K\u00f6ln, Leipzig, Wiesbaden, London, New York, San Francisco, Florenz, Neapel, Lissabon, Buenos Aires, Marrakesch und M\u00fcnchen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
